The performance of Wexham Park Hospital in Slough and its 'sister' Heatherwood Hospital in Ascot over the last year will be analysed when the trust that runs them holds its annual meeting on Tuesday.

The Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust will be held at the Legoland theme park hotel in Windsor on Tuesday between 7pm and 9pm.

It is open to the public and refreshments will be available.

The meeting will analyse the trust’s achievements over the past year, its challenges and financial position.

It will also be an opportunity for members of the public to meet senior officers and learn more about changes to its stroke services.

In the last year building work has started on a £49m new emergency department and assessment centre at Wexham Park, while women’s services at the site are undergoing a £10m upgrade.

The trust has also been granted planning permission, subject to conditions, to rebuild Heatherwood Hospital. The £90m project will see a state-of-the-art elective care and diagnostic centre created in woodland close to where the current hospital stands.

Consultant stroke physician and geriatrician Dr Ottilia Speirs will give a talk about the management of strokes while stroke survivor Alan Batup will share his experience and inspiring story of recovery.
