A young Entrepreneur of the Year competition for 2017 has been launched by Slough chartered accountants Haines Watts.

Jane Wills, a partner in the Farnham Road company, said: “In facing the daily challenges that arise when building a company, it’s vital to keep that excitement alive that made you want to start a company in the first place. As well as the prizes and publicity for our chosen finalists, the HWYE competition offers support such as a social network online where all entrepreneurs can share experiences. We also publish blogs with useful tips on business related issues.”

The competition is open to young entrepreneurs who are under 36 on July 31, from around the Thames Valley area including Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Surrey.

Ms Wills added, “The process of entering the HWYE competition is valuable because, when you answer the online questions on the entry form, it makes you stop and evaluate all aspects of your business. So whether you win or not, it’s worthwhile to put yourself out there – and if you did win, well that really would be something different to share wouldn’t it?”

Each winning local business chosen to attend this year’s finals on November 16 will receive a cash prize, a year-long mentoring programme with a partner from Haines Watts and free publicity. Entry is free - just go online at www.hwye.co.uk and provide some details about your company and why it should win. Applicants must have been in business for over a year but there is no lower age limit.
