WE are offering the chance of a lifetime for one lucky entrepreneur to win a business unit on Europe's premier trading estate free for a year.
This is a unique opportunity for one start-up company to secure one of the most prestigious business addresses in the world with SEGRO.
Berkshire Media Group, publisher of The Observer, has teamed up with SEGRO, Europe's leading owner-manager and developer of industrial property, the Federation of Small Businesses, the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce and The Business Magazine to launch The Entrepreneur competition.
Thames Valley entrepreneurs can win the use of a business unit, free of charge for a year, on Slough Trading Estate - one of the region's biggest business hubs.
All you have to do is submit a business plan for your venture, including a business summary and how the prize premises would help it develop - entrants can include schools, colleges and universities with an entrepreneurial idea. The ideas will be scrutinised by business experts, including Kevin Gaskell, former chief executive of BMW and Porsche and now chairman of Courland Automotive Limited and Achilles Group.
Nicola Webb, senior leasing surveyor at SEGRO, said: "We're delighted to be working with the Federation of Small Businesses and the Chamber of Commerce to deliver The Entrepreneur competition, offering enterprising individuals and businesses a helpful hand on the way to success."
The winning company will be offered a unit in the trading estate's Enterprise Quarter, offered by SEGRO, for a full year - worth £28,000.
This fantastic prize means:
* no rent
* no service charge
* no business rate
* no building insurance
for the 12 months - although utility bills and other insurances will have to be paid.
The competition is open to any businesses based in the Thames Valley that would benefit from new premises. The deadline for entries is December 21, so you have plenty of time to prepare a fantastic submission.
