A SPLASH of colour was added to a previously bare wall at a hospital with the help of some artistic volunteers.
Two murals dedicated to the key events in 2012 were painted at the King Edward VII hospital in St Leonard's Road, Windsor in the audiology department
The murals, designed by local artist Elizabeth Pearson, were dedicated to the Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics and were painted by volunteers from the Windsor community.
Hospital staff were joined by children from the Kings Church International youth group, the Windsor Boys' and Girl's school and volunteers from the recycling company Veolia.
Cllr Natasha Airey, deputy lead member for youth provision and community budgets, said: "Everyone was really proud with what they had done as, for many of them, they had never done anything like this before."
Cllr Airey, who was also present on the day, contributed her £750 ward councillor allowances to the Friends of King Edward VII hospital organisation which helped fund the mural painting.
Colleen Jones, chairman of the organisation, said: "We wanted to put the murals near to a ward where there are a lot of children to give them a boost. We're all so grateful that this has been done."
