WINDSOR Football Club Youth have made their latest signing of the summer - the Alexander Devine Children's Hospice Service.
The team's kit will feature the Alexander Devine logo for the upcoming football season and the charity's co-founder, Fiona Devine, met up with some furry friends to launch the partnership on Saturday.
The club's chairman Will Calvert, Windsor FC mascot Scotty the Stag and charity mascot Dolphine held a penalty shoot-out competition at Hanover Way community ground.
Mrs Devine said: "Nothing brings more pride and joy than seeing children help others who are less fortunate than themselves. As this partnership grows it will incorporate local businesses, families and children, all working together to support two community projects."
The charity, based in Whitby Road, Slough, has raised more than £1.2m in four years towards building Berkshire's first dedicated children's hospice.
Mrs Devine and her husband John set up the appeal in memory of their eight-year-old son, Alexander, died from a brain tumour in 2006.
Mr Calvert said: "As Windsor's youth football club we're there for kids in the community - just like the Alexander Devine Children's Hospice Service. So we're proud to be their partners and together to work with community-minded businesses to promote both our causes."
