THE magical world of Mickey Mouse was brought to life by budding artists at Hilltop First School.

Youngsters from the Treetops class, in Year 1, spent Wednesday morning learning the theory behind the legendary Disney creation.

Ron Butler, Year 1 class teacher at the school in Clewer Hill Road, Windsor, said: "It was a fantastic experience for the kids. Their artistic skills have shot up. After learning some theory, and drawing some careful circles, suddenly they had these brilliant characters in front of them.

"We tried to get Mickey Mouse to visit but that is very hard. The people at the Disney Store suggested we do the workshop and it was brilliant."

Pupils at the school have been working on their Disney projects since Easter, and the visit by volunteers from Reading's Disney Store capped off a successful topic.
