THE Royal Borough's Family and Community Learning Service has launched a photography competition to celebrate this year's Adult Learners' Week.

'Learning from the World We Live In' sets the challenge for photographers aged 19 and over to capture the essence of learning for adults in the borough through taking snaps.

Cllr Eileen Quick, cabinet minister for children's services, said: "The challenge of producing a photo to illustrate the importance of Adult Learners' Week will hopefully help people to really think about what it means to them - and how much the activities on offer can stimulate interest in a range of activities. So get out those cameras."

Winners of the competition can win vouchers for studio photographic sessions and complimentary photos from Venture Photography of Marlow and Alison Crown Photography of Maidenhead.

Prizes also include tea for two at the Sir Christopher Wren Hotel and Spa in Windsor, a year's membership at Maidenhead Camera Club and Waitrose vouchers.

Entries should be sent to Jigisha Solanki, information officer at the Family and Community Learning Service, Town Hall, St Ives Road, Maidenhead, by Friday May 4.

Terms and conditions will be published on http://www.rbwm.gov.uk/web/ed_acl_info.htm.

A selection of entries will be displayed at the Town Hall during Adult Learners' Week, May 12-18.
