A BRILLIANTLY brainy teenage scientist has reached the finals of a national competition.
Theo Kubiena, a 17-year-old Windsor Boys' School student, wowed judges with his study of the suction created by moulded silicone suckers and will now go head to head with youngsters across the country.
Theo will present his entry in front of more than 30,000 people at The Big Bang UK Young Scientists & Engineers Fair at the NEC, in Birmingham, from March 15 to 17. The panel will include renowned space scientist Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock and Nobel Prize winning biochemist Sir Time Hunt.
Theo is excited at the prospect and said: "I'm so proud that my project has made it into the finals. It's a great achievement and I can't wait to get to The Big Bang next year. The competition really encouraged me to think about science and engineering in a new light."
