THE CORONATION Cup will be contested between the English and South African polo teams in Windsor Great Park on Sunday, July 22.
The trophy, first played for in 1911 to commemorate the coronation of King George V, has become the showcase match of the English polo season and is part of the world's biggest spectator polo day.
Organised by the Hurlingham Polo Association and held at Guards Polo Club, it will be the first time South Africa have taken part since they lost to England in 1994.
In recognition of The Queen's Diamond Jubilee, the winners of the game will receive a new Diamond Jubilee Trophy, replacing the Golden Jubilee Trophy in use since 2002.
The match is expected to be a tough test for the English team, with polo's popularity in South Africa soaring during the past decade, but England will fancy their chances of completing a hat-trick of victories having defeated New Zealand in 2010 and Brazil in 2011.
Tickets are on sale from April 1 and can be purchased at www.guardspoloclub.com
