WOMEN in Windsor are being urged to join the fight against cancer by entering the Race for Life.
Mums, daughters, sisters, grandmas and friends can sign up for the race taking place at Windsor Racecourse, on Saturday, June 16 and Sunday, June 17, which last year attracted 7,265 women and raised £550,773.
Organisers hope to recruit more than 7,500 participants this time around to fight a disease which affects 41,000 people in the south east every year.
Lea Blake, Cancer Research UK's Berkshire events manager, said: "We know many women want to take part in Race for Life but are worried they won't be able to complete the course. We want to reassure them that Race for Life is not about being fast or fit. It's a celebration of sisterhood and hope.
"Most women are able to walk 5k in an hour while chatting and having fun. The startling fact is that in the same period of time, around five people in the South East will be diagnosed with cancer."
To join Windsor versus cancer, enter Race for Life at www.raceforlife.org or call 0871 641 1111.
