THE alternatives to university will be explored at a Royal Borough event on Wednesday.

The innovative, fact-finding day at Maidenhead Town Hall, will promote apprenticeships and employability and feature local companies including Legoland Windsor, Radian and East Berkshire College.

The day, from 10am-4pm, will be hosted by the Royal Borough's Grow Our Own team and will include CV writing sessions, mock interviews and guest speakers.

Cllr Christine Bateson, cabinet member for planning and partnerships, said: "We hear so much these days about students leaving university with huge debts - so naturally many school leavers will be considering their alternatives."
