TOY ENTHUSIASTS from around Europe wheeled and dealed when thousands of collectors' items were put on display.

From Meccano to dolls, from Dinkys to lightsabers, all were on show when the Windsor International Toy Fair, at Montem Leisure Centre, in Slough, hosted 150 stalls of the best buys and most polished collections.

Maidenhead Static Model Club, celebrating its 40th year, organised the fair, held on Saturday, and buyers from France and Italy came to check out the best of British toys.

John Garside, who has organised the event for the past10 years, said: "It was a very successful event and the turn-out was fantastic as always. We had dealers come from all over Britain to show off their collections and enter potential swap deals or sell their valuables."

The fair had professional toy experts on hand to value collectors' items and the event provided the perfect opportunity for Maidenhead Static Model Club to receive global exposure.

The club has more than 100 members and meets on the third Tuesday of every month at Windsor Football Club, in St Leonard's Road at 8pm.
