A BRITISH gymnastics champion put boys and girls through their paces in a sponsored fitness challenge.
Danny Lawrence, GB International Gymnast and Dominique Blaize, long jumper from the Sports for Schools team visited Eton End School on Thursday last week.
Children at the school in Eton Road put their fitness to the test in an exercise circuit to raise funds for sports equipment and Sports for Schools - an organisation which supports young hopefuls working towards the 2012 and future Olympic Games.
Corrie Davies, head of sport said: "The fitness circuit and exercises were brilliant to inspire the children to take part in physical activity and sport. The idea is to encourage them to take up a new sport or join a club as part of the 2012 Inspiration campaign."
During a well-deserved break, the children were mesmerised by Mr Lawrence's flips and cartwheels as he took to the floor to perform a gymnastic routine.
Mr Lawrence is the British champion on the rings and has competed in three world and three European championships. He won silver for the GB gymnastics team at the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi in October 2010.
