YOUNG aspiring artists and entrepreneurs are being given the chance to apply for three £500 grants to support their own cultural project.
Firestation Arts & Culture, from the Firestation Centre for Arts & Culture, in Windsor, have teamed up with Beat Magazine and the Games Walk to offer teenagers, under 18 years old the chance to develop and run their own project in a scheme called Show Off!
Applications are being invited from today and successful bidders will receive a £500 grant as well as mentor support for any cultural project, which could range from dance events to photography, gaming to gigs or comics to street theatre.
Dan Eastmond, managing director at the centre, said: "We want to offer young people support and encouragement to do the things that are important to them. There are some great funds and bursaries out there, but they often lean towards school clubs, dance groups and the like.
"Show Off! is for any person and any cultural project, something brand new or something classic. There are no rules, just do something you love."
Application forms can be picked up from The Firestation Centre, in St Leonard's Road, or downloaded at www.firestationartscentre.com/showoff
