Hotel fire shuts down high street

A FIRE at The Olde Bell hotel in Hurley caused the High Street to be shut for around 40 minutes today.
Two engines from white watch at Maidenhead fire station were called to the blaze at 9.20am when the roof of an outer block of hotel rooms caught fire.
It is not known how the fire started but Watch Manager Nigel Flatt confirmed that guests had to be evacuated to the main hotel while firefighters, wearing breathing apparatus, worked to put the flames out.
He also confirmed that the were no injuries as a result of the fire.
