Police officer and wife charged with fraud

A WINDSOR-based police officer and his wife have been charged with obtaining a mortgage by deception and perjury.
Det Sgt Narinder Sahota, 49, was charged on Tuesday with nine counts of obtaining a mortgage by deception, five counts of defrauding Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC), and three counts of perjury.
Rajinder Sahota, 50, has been charged with four counts of obtaining a mortgage by deception and three counts of defrauding HMRC.
Det Sgt Sahota, who is based at Windsor police station, has been suspended from duty until the outcome of the court case.
Both have been released on bail to attend Swindon Magistrates' Court on February 1.
