BATTLELINES have been drawn in a Dedworth cul-de-sac with a Royal Borough councillor stuck in the middle of a neighbourhood spat.

Residents in Washington Drive, off Wolf Lane, have been split by calls for double yellow lines at the entrance to the close and 16 households believe they have been treated "undemocratically".

A campaign by people at the top of the cul-de-sac to implement double yellow lines to stop people parking near the junction with Wolf Lane began in January last year, and their wishes were granted when new markings became legal on Monday.
