"GOOD living" is the secret to a long life, according a former Cox Green woman celebrating her 100th birthday.
Ivy Lethbridge, who lived in Cox Green for 63 years, marked the milestone at Bracknell Care Home in Easthampstead surrounded by family and friends on Friday, who shared fond memories of her cooking.
Mrs Lethbridge, who has four grandchildren - Jennifer, Roger, Nicky and Fran - plus eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, said: "Good living," is the secret to her advanced years. Her granddaughter Fran Dimmock added: "This is what she has been waiting for for years, we are terribly proud of her.
"She has received a card from The Queen and a telegram from Iain Duncan Smith."
Mrs Lethbridge was born in Ivybridge, Devon, in 1911 and, aged 20, married Ted. They had a daughter Lola, who died 12 years ago.
The couple moved to Northampton before relocating to Cox Green near Maidenhead in 1947.
Mr Lethbridge died in 1993 and Mrs Lethbridge moved to Bracknell Care Home in January last year.
