TWO Mexican men jailed for burgling houses will be deported after finishing their sentences.

Manuel Arellano, 37 and Rigoberto Cardona Sanchez, 42, admitted breaking into houses in Ascot and Old Windsor last year when they appeared at Reading Crown Court on Wednesday. [4]

The burglaries in Windsor Road, Ascot happened on August 8, during which jewellery was stolen, and at Harwood Gardens in Old Windsor on August 10.

Arellano, of no fixed abode, was jailed for two years and Sanchez, also of no fixed abode, was sentenced to 26 months in jail. Both men will be deported at the end of their sentences.

PC Vicky Hunt, from Maidenhead CID, who investigated the incidents, said: "This is a pleasing result and I hope it brings closure for the victims.

"Burglary is a traumatic crime which can leave a lasting impression on the victims.

"I also hope that this sentence acts as a warning to other people involved in this type of criminal activity."
