COPS are warning householders to be on their guard after a sudden spate of day-time burglaries.
There were three separate incidents, on Monday alone which police believe are connected.
Silver jewellery, a small amount of cash and a mobile phone were snatched from a property in Woodland Avenue, Windsor, after a thief broke in through a rear window. In Snowden Close jewellery was stolen from a home and in Sherbourne Drive, a house was broken into by forcing open patio doors but nothing was stolen. All the break-ins happened between 8am and 6pm.
Det Insp Graham Enright, said: "It is possible that the same person or people are responsible for these breaks which have all occurred during the day and where entry has been gained via the rear of each property."
"While we continue to investigate these crimes, I would appeal to anyone with information to come forward."
Police have recorded a 1.7% increase in burglaries in the Royal Borough between April and December 13, compared to the same period last year, amounting to nine more, and in response to the sudden increase in day time raids police are advising residents to be extra vigilant during the run up to Christmas.
Included in the Thames Valley Police advice is not leaving car keys, handbags or identification documents near doors, letterboxes or windows and keeping Christmas presents out of sight from outside the house.
For those leaving their house unattended for the holidays police are reminding them to cancel milk or other deliveries and to invest in a timer to switch lights or radios on and off automatically.
Asking a neighbour to clear the post and park their car in the empty home's drive will also warn off potential theives.
Anyone with information on the three burglaries can contact the Force CID team at Maidenhead by dialing 101. Alternatively, to remain anonymous, contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
