A sinister hoard of deadly weapons has been dragged from the River Thames in Windsor by a group of school children out rowing.

Samurai swords, a crossbow, air rifle and knives were among the bag of arms fished out near Stovell Road.

The year nine pupils at Windsor Boys School were trying out for the rowing team on their first day back at school on Monday when they made their extraordinary find.

One boy said: “One of the guys was in the water at the bottom of the slipway and said he could see some shiny things at the bottom and ducked under the water. He pulled up two Samurai swords and was waving them above his head and said there was lots more stuff down there, so lots of us rushed over and pulled up more Samurai swords, some knives, guns and crossbows.
