HEARTLESS thieves have broken into a clinic and stolen a charity box containing about £1,500.

The discovery was made at Active Health Clinics in St Marks Road, Maidenhead when staff arrived at work to find a smashed front door and glass everywhere.

The money was collected over the last few months by staff and patients for the Alexander Devine Children's Hospice Service.

Receptionist Claudia Brown said: "It is awful and sickening. We would like the money back so the charity does not lose out."

The break-in is thought to have happened last night (Monday).

Anyone with information can call police on 08458 505505.
