A SUCCESSFUL college is looking to expand after becoming too popular.
East Berkshire College's £10m Windsor Campus opened in September 2006 and now teaches nearly 1,000 pupils. Due to outstanding A-level results the college is seeing unprecedented demand for places and is consulting with its neighbours over building an extension to accommodate an additional 60 students.
A spokesman from the college said: "Due to growing success and outstanding 2009 A-level results placing it in the top 10% of UK colleges, the Windsor Campus is full and experiencing additional demand.
"The plan is to extend by two storeys over the existing first storey at the rear of the college building, which will provide space for extra classrooms. In addition, a small conservatory-style extension in the garden area is planned in order to expand the refectory. The proposed extension is part of the college's ongoing commitment to providing the best facilities for its communities."
