A £10,000 survey will find out if there are enough taxis in the Royal Borough.

Currently the council limits the number of taxi licenses it issues to 96 and must therefore carry out a survey every three years to ensure there is not demand for more taxis.

However the report points out that council officers believe that the current levels are correct.

It states: "The current position from officers' perspective is that there would appear to be sufficient taxis to cover both the peak hours at Maidenhead Station and to deal with customers leaving late venues in Windsor."

Members of the councils Licensing Panel will consider starting the survey at its meeting on Tuesday (July 20).
