Garter party for Queen
THE Queen will join a colourful procession through Windsor Castle as this year's Order of the Garter ceremony gets underway.
A service for the Most Noble Order of the Garter will be held at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle today (Monday).
Her Majesty The Queen accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh and other members of the Royal Family will leave the castle at 2.40pm and travel to the chapel for the service. Following the service the Royal Family will return to the castle in carriages at around 3.30pm.
There are no new Garter Knights this year.
The Order, consisting of The Queen and twenty-three companion knights, honours those who have held public office, have contributed in a particular way to national life of who have served the Sovereign personally.
