A VIGILANT youngster has saved the life of a homeless man he found injured and just hours from death.
Henry O'Brien discovered the man who was suffering from head injuries after he collapsed in Alexandra Gardens.
His friends had been jumping over a large 'object' which they believed to be a log not realising it was an unconscious person.
But 11-year-old Henry who had been taken out to dinner with his friends and their parents in the town centre, realised there was more to the 'object' than met the eye.
He said: "We were walking back to the car and my friends jumped over this thing. It was only when we were walking off that I heard the man groan and I was sure I saw blood. I told my friend's mum that there was a dead man there but she didn't believe me."
