CELEBRATIONS have been held at Slough Library to mark its extended opening hours.

More than 300 residents attended attended the party, which had a range of activities including live music from the Berkshire Shadows Club, craft sessions for children, and a free raffle for library vouchers.

Lisa Hodgkins, acting principal librarian at Slough Library said: "The event went really well and we were very pleased with the number of people who turned up. There has been great demand for extended hours and we hope to roll it out across all libraries in the borough during the course of the year."

The library is now open until 7pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The event was held on Wednesday. For more information call 01753 535166.
