YOUNGSTERS turned the clock back centuries as they constructed their very own Tudor home.

More than 230 Year 5 and 6 pupils at Cippenham Junior School in Elmshott Lane, Cippenham, showed off their muscle power by building the 1/3 scale authentic design out of 96 pieces of Timber.

The children were divided into four different groups and each had the opportunity to spend an entire day working as a team to mark, tile and thatch the home, with the help of specialist company Build a Tudor House.

Deputy head teacher Carol-Ann Heeks said: "This term we are studying the Tudors as part of the history curriculum and decided the give the children a hands-on experience. From the joy on the children's faces, they had a fantastic time."

The exercise was held between February 4 and February 9. For more information visit www.buildatudorhouse.co.uk
