TRIBUTES have been paid to a young man who died on Christmas Eve following a car crash in Windsor Great Park.

Sonja Wieck Simmonds described her cousin Beyon Perera as an amazing young man who lived life to the full.

Sri Lankan born Mr Perera had been living in the UK for two years and was studying marketing at Thames Valley University's Ealing campus.

He also worked part-time at Budgens, in Ascot, the Belvedere Arms, in Sunninghill, and worked on computers in his spare time.

Ms Wieck Simmonds said: "He was an amazing young man. They say 23-years-old is young but he lived his life to the full. He was so full of energy and would take every opportunity and every chance."

Beyon had just dropped his brother, Dillon, off at work and was heading to work himself when the accident happened in Sheet Street Road at 5.40pm last Wednesday (December 23).

Ms Wieck Simmonds said the family have been "drifting through the days" since Beyon's death.

A memorial is taking place at Sacred Heart Church, on the A30, in Sunningdale, at 2pm tomorrow (Thursday December 31).

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the head-on collision to call PC Matthew Wood on 0845 8 505 505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
