A man has been arrested this afternoon following an incident in Maidenhead.

Police received a call at around 11.20am following a report of a burglary in progress in Holmanleaze.

It is believed that the suspect got into a car which later crashed near the fire station. The man is then thought to have tried to make his escape in a van.

However, he was arrested by officers at around midday on suspicion of burglary and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.

The man sustained minor injuries, including cuts and bruises, and is currently being treated in hospital while still under arrest.
