THE body of a man with gunshot wounds has been found in secluded woodland just yards from a number of mansion homes.
The corpse was discovered near Drift Road, Windsor, on Sunday morning after a resident phoned police after spotting an abandoned Range Rover parked near his house.
The body has not yet been formally identified.
On Friday police issued an appeal to trace Dutch banker, Huibert Gerard Boumeester, 49, from Belgravia, West London, who was last seen in Windsor Great Park on Monday last week at around 1pm.
The area, close to the former home of showbiz couple Billy Connolly and Pamela Stephenson, was cordened off while forensic teams investigated.
A spokeswoman for Thames Valley Police said: 'The man is believed to have died from gunshot wounds. The death is being treated as unexplained.'
Miles Kingsmill-Moore, of Drift Road, said: 'My neighbour spotted a Range Rover there on Wednesday with a Westminster parking permit and the windows were down.He called police on Friday.'
Fears grew for Mr Boumeester, who was described as 'feeling down", when he missed a business appointment on Monday last week.
