AS temperatures rise across the country residents in East Berkshire have been issued with safety advice.
The Met Office has issued a heatwave warning in the area as temperatures head for 30c - well into the 80"s in fahrenheit.
NHS Berkshire is working closely with all three local authorities, Slough, The Royal Borough and Bracknell to minimise the impact of weather.
Dr Angela Snowling, the acting Director of Public Health at NHS Berkshire East said: 'It is really important during hot weather to keep the home as cool as possible and to check up on vulnerable friends, relatives and neighbours.'
Top tips for staying cool include:
*Shutting windows when it is hotter outside and opening them for ventilation when it is cooler.
*People with serious health problems such as heart conditions should avoid going out in the heat, especially between 11am an 3pm.
*Drinking cold drinks like water or fruit juice regularly and avoiding beverages such as tea, coffee and alcohol.
*Staying tuned to the weather forecast and planning ahead with supplies and water.
The heat can be dangerous for the very young, older people or those with respiratory or heart problems according to the NHS.
