CELEBRITY line-ups, family musicals and comedies are all part of a new season line-up announced by the new man in charge at the Theatre Royal Windsor.

The new summer/autumn brochure was on stands in Thames Street on Wednesday and theatre director Simon Pearce was excited about the launch of his first programme.

He said: 'There is so much too look forward to and something for everyone. I had someone say they have a complaint about the programme and they said there is far too much and I am going to have to spend too much.'

Award-winning musical Cabaret will end the spring/summer season making way for 40s farce Pools Paradise and the return of Abba sensation Dancing Queen.

Soap stars from Eastenders and Coronation Street come to a head when Michelle Collins and Rupert Hill clash in the psychological drama Deceptions before the return of TV classic The Last of the Summer Wine and the Agatha Christie Theatre Company"s Spider"s Web.

August will mark Alan Ayckbourn"s 70th birthday and the theatre will be celebrating with his West End production of Absurd Person Singular. In September, The Grass is Greener will be stopping off in Windsor for three days launching its UK national tour.

Shows produced by the theatre including comedy That"s Love featuring TV comedy couple John Challis and Sue Holderness and a brand new production of Agatha Christie"s A Daughter"s a Daughter will be on stage in October and November.

Festive entertainment will take over the theatre from November with The Rocky Horror Show and this year"s pantomime Aladdin.
