Turkeys at the Copas farm in Cookham got into a real flap as TV chefs The Hairy Bikers rolled up to the farm to start filming for their upcoming Christmas special.

The larger than life BBC stars lent a helping hand to give the Copas Turkeys team a chance to take a welcome break from their busiest time of year and to offer a sneak preview of their brand new, custom-made bikes which will be featured in the new series.

The Hairy Bikers, real names Dave Myers and Si King, explained their decision to film at the Copas farm. They said: "Copas Turkeys are fantastic, the birds live as a free range Game bird does, they eat well, climb tress and have a laugh with their mates.

"The meat is wonderful for left over dishes, the flavour is rich and the fat in the meat always keeps them juicy. Hurry on Christmas."

Christmas TV coverage is sure to put the locally renowned Copas Turkey sisters on the foodie map. The programme featuring the Cookham farm will be aired in December, although exact scheduling is yet to be confirmed by the BBC.

Sarah Copas, partner on the farm, said: "We were incredibly excited to get a call from The Hairy Bikers team asking if they could come and film at our farm in Cookham. They loved the idea that it was three girls, my sisters Tanya, Fenella and I, that run the business on a day-to-day basis and had already experienced, firsthand, the superior eating quality our turkeys have."

Copies of The Hairy Bikers turkey recipes will be available on collection of a Copas turkey on December 23. Anyone interested in cooking a Copas turkey this Christmas can order online at www.copasturkeys.co.uk.
