FIREFIGHTERS in Maidenhead were called upon to put out a chimney fire on Remenham Lane at 4pm today.

The fire, which started in a house chimney, took around an hour to get under control and extinguish and there was no disruption caused to passing traffic.

Red Watch manager Iain Seurre confirmed that there was no damage to the house as the fire was restricted to the chimney and only one engine was required.
