Boy seriously hurt after being hit by car

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a young boy was hit by a car.

The collision which involved a silver Toyota RAV4 and a 11-year-old occurred at around 8.30am.

Road closures were put in place for several hours allowing emergency services and collision investigators to attend the scene in Oaken Grove, Maidenhead.

The youngster from the local area was seriously injured and initially taken to Wexham Park Hospital before being transferred to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford for specialist treatment.

The circumstances of the incident which took place earlier today are currently under investigation.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, or saw the vehicles prior to it, is urged to contact PC Steve Mitchell of Taplow Roads Policing via the 24-hour Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505.
