Man in hospital after attack by gang

A MAN was beaten up by a gang after a row in the early hours of this morning.

The victim who is in his 20s was involved in an argument during which he was punched and kicked to the floor.

The incident happened shortly before 3.40am today near the Murco petrol station in Cookham Road, Maidenhead.

The man sustained serious head and facial injuries including a fractured cheekbone and was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Police say he is now in a stable condition.

An area near the petrol station remained closed off today to press to allow access to investigators.

A spokesman for Thames Valley Police added: "As the investigation is at an early stage, no descriptions of the offenders or further details are currently available."
