A MAN and woman have been identified from CCTV images that were released by police - after a man was punched and knocked to the ground in Maidenhead, fracturing his jaw.

The images showed a man and a woman who the police believe could have vital information relating to the incident.

The 23-year-old man was punched by another man near the underpass leading to the Castle Hill side of Kidwells Park on April 2 at around 2.30am.

He was knocked to the ground and fractured his jaw. The man was treated in hospital and later discharged.

Investigating officer, Det Con Ross Fleming of Force CID in Berkshire, said: “We are releasing these CCTV images of a man and a woman as we believe they might have vital information that can help our investigation.

“If you are the man or the woman in the images, or believe you know who they are, please contact police immediately. The easiest way to do this is to call 101, or you can visit your nearest police station.

“I would also appeal to anyone else with any other information about the offence to also contact police so we can bring justice to the victim, who sustained serious injuries.

“If you do not want to speak directly to the police you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.”

Police are now no longer appealing for information.
