THE annual Slough & Burnham Peace Symposium is taking place on Saturday October 13 at Burnham Park Academy.

Now in its 13th year, this event brings together the many faiths and communities in Slough and Burnham and provides a platform for a variety of individuals to speak on a common theme, the theme for this year being ‘Fundamentals of Establishing Lasting Peace’.

Some of the speakers this year include Tan Dhesi MP, the Mayor of Slough Cllr Paul Sohal and Reverend Bill Jackson from St. Peter’s Church in Burnham.

Atiq Ahmad Bhatti, President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Slough & South Bucks, who organise the annual Symposium, said: “The Symposium is an event that focuses primarily on promoting peace between the many faiths, communities and organisations that are a part of not only Slough and Burnham but the surrounding areas. It is a wonderful opportunity to come together and have an open dialogue on specific themes that are pertinent to peace and the message of love, freedom and respect. I sincerely hope that we have a great turnout, like previous years. We hope members of the public will attend and support our initiative.”

The Peace Symposium is a complementary event with no charge. If you wish to attend, please email Atiq at slough@ahmadiyya.org.uk or call 07812 070 810.
