Homelessness will be at the forefront of a fundraising campaign beginning in Windsor tomorrow (Saturday).
The Windsor Constituency Labour Party is holding a stall in Peascod Street outside the Post Office between 10am and 2pm, highlighting a gig happening next Friday, September 14 in aid of the homeless.
The gig entitled A Night to Remember will be held at the Watermans Arms in Eton from 7.30pm, headlined by Phil “Swill” Odgers and Bobby Valentino from The Men They Couldn’t Hang.
There will be a raffle with prizes donated by local organisations including Eton Travel, Gilbeys, Flaming Cow, Eton Mess and Tastes Delicatessen (all in Eton); plus W. J. Daniel & Co Department Store and Huttons (both in Windsor).
All the proceeds raised will go towards the Windsor Homelessness Project. Margery Thorogood from Windsor Constituency Labour Party hopes that people who visit the stall on Saturday morning will also take the opportunity to sign a petition. The party recently signed up to support the East Berkshire and Reading Housing Campaign.
