A PUB is to hold a record sale in the coming days.

The Wheatsheaf, located on Albert Street, Slough, is to hold its annual record sale on Sunday, August 19.

Pub punter Andrew Leighton-Pope, who is organising the event along with pub manager Leonard Gibson, said: "The Wheatsheaf is a music pub historically, and still is. We run an annual event called Bobstock, a weekend of music which is now in its tenth year. The money we raise is always for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

"This is our third year running the record sale. We'll have a live DJ, and food as well. Many pub regulars have given us boxes of records to sell, we've got a shed filled with hundreds of them now.

"In recent years sales of records have gone way up, and so have sales of turntables. They've become quite popular now, it feels like we've come a full circle.

"The idea of supporting the Teenage Cancer Trust came up years ago - one of the regulars in the pub had an ill godchild. We've raised over £10,000 for the charity since then."

In addition to the records, a number of rare early video games will also be available to buy.
