Students at St Bernard's Catholic Grammar School in Slough achieved a 100 per cent pass rate this year, beating last year's result.

There was an improvement in the number of students gaining three A* to B grades with almost 50 per cent of students gaining three A* to B grades.

In addition 33.5% of all grades were at A* to A grades with 85.8% of grades being A* to C. The vast majority of subjects gained at least 50% of their grades at A*-B grades. English results were impressive with 25% of students gaining an A* grades.

Head of sixth form Diana Seagrove said: “I am delighted for all our students. They have worked very hard and deserve the excellent results.

"Year 13 have been a credit to the school, not only in their academic results, but by how they have maintained the ethos of community spirit and service to others.

"While we value the results of all our students, some were of particular note."

Head Girl Jenny Sauer gained 2 A* grades and 2 A grades and is taking a gap year before hoping to take a place at Oxbridge.

Head Boy Liam Danagher gained an A* and A and a B and will now study Politics and Italian at Manchester University. He said “I can’t believe we’ve come this far. These results will take a few days to sink in”

Matthew Friend and Gabriel Rakowski both attained 4 A* grades; Matthew goes on to study Computer Science at Bristol University, while Gabriel will study Mathematics at Durham University.

Another exceptionally high performer was Dani Ramsey, who gained 3 A* grades and will now study Medicine at Imperial College. He said “I can’t believe that it has come to the end, seven years at St Bernard’s. I can’t believe it’s ended with such success. Thank you so much to all my teachers."
