LEADING waste management company Grundon is one of the sponsors of this year's Bubble Rush event for Windsor's Thames Hospice.

The Bubble Rush is the annual fundraiser for the hospice in Hatch Lane and Grundon's deputy chairman Neil Grundon became an enthusiastic supporter after paying a recent visit there.

A 30 strong team of employees from his Colnbrook based company has already signed up to take part in the event, which is happening on the Berkshire College of Agriculture’s (BCA) impressive 400 acre-estate near Maidenhead.

The Bubble Rush will help Thames Hospice continue to provide vital care to thousands of people who need its specialist end-of-life care at its premises or in patient’s own homes.

The event has no age restrictions.. Entrants can walk, skip or run their way around the 2.5 or 5k route through a sea of colourful bubbles at the BCA. The circuit will take them through four ‘bubble stations’ where high-powered foam cannons will blow out 30 cubic metres a minute of bright, frothy bubbles.

Grundon will sponsor two bubble stations as well as runners’ wristbands.

Debbie Raven, chief executive at Thames Hospice, said: “We are really excited about bringing back Bubble Rush to Berkshire and are delighted to have Grundon on board as one of our lead sponsors. Last year’s event was an incredible success raising over £31,000 for the Hospice. With the generous support of organisations like Grundon and the local community, this year is going to be bigger and better.”

Neil Grundon said: “As a local business we’re passionate about investing in the community around us and we know that Thames Hospice does an amazing job in caring for those individuals and their families who so vitally need its help. This event is very close to our hearts and we are thrilled to be lending both our financial support and to be able to cheer the efforts of our runners on the day.”
