Budding entrepreneurs from across Berkshire are turning their business ideas into reality thanks to a new support programme from the Thames Valley Berkshire Business Growth Hub.

From vegan pizzas and an ethical fashion brand to fun coding clubs for kids, their business ideas were given a head start thanks to the Pre-Accelerator Programme.

The 10 ambitious individuals, who are looking to start up their own businesses in the next six to 12 months, have just completed a five-week intensive support programme to provide them with the knowledge they need to turn their ideas into viable businesses.

Nancy Mafico from Langley is a qualified lawyer who decided she wanted a change of career after 20 years of working in the legal field. Having developed new waterless and preservative-free skin care products featuring only natural ingredients, she felt she needed help to get the business started and turn her dream into a reality.

Nancy explains: “The pre-accelerator course has been an incredible learning experience. It has taught me how to research and develop a business plan, how to find financial backing and how to pitch your business idea. Above all, it has given me more confidence and introduced me to a network of supportive people who already run successful businesses.

“The course has shown me how I can make my business idea a reality. Five years from now, I’d like to think I’ll be able to export my products and employ a small team.”
