Funeral directors Lodge Brothers have opened a new branch in Dedworth.

District manager Richard Leachman joined the Royal Borough's mayor Cllr Paul Lion in unveiling at plaque at the new premises in Dedworth Road last Thursday - while All Saints Church's recently retired vicar Louise Brown made a special return visit to lead the dedication and blessing in the Chapel of Rest.

Canon David Hopgood from St Edwards and St Marks Roman Catholic churches and Reverend Rosie Webb, the Rector at St Andrew’s, Clewer also attended.

Robert Lodge, the chairman and director of Lodge Brothers and Debbie Raven, the chief executive of Windsor's Thames Hospice were there along with representatives from businesses in the area and council registrars.

Mr Leachman opened proceedings by talking about Lodge Brothers' history. The company is 230 years old and has been run by seven generations of the same family.
