'DON'T start bonfires during this hot, dry weather spell'.
That was the message from Slough fire crew manager Seth Juby after his team spent a second night dealing with potentially disastrous flare-ups.
On Thursday night they had to douse flames that spread to three sheds and briefly closed Straight Road in Old Windsor.
But yesterday saw the teams receive 15 similar calls in 24 hours - all successfully dealt with but all potentially serious.
Mr Juby emphasised that the bonfire in Old Windsor had not been irresponsibly started. It was in a special safety container and everything had been done right.
But he said: "Just a tiny spark escaping in this weather can start a fire."
