There is nothing like giving the public what it wants.

When Wraysbury Players allowed residents to choose their next performance through an online poll - the winner was Noel Coward’s classic play Blithe Spirit.

The farcical comedy entertained West End theatregoers for four years during the dark days of the war before going on to become a successful film.

It concerns Charles Condomine, an aspiring author who decides to research the occult by inviting a medium into his home. But his plan backfires, and he finds himself torn between his current wife and the maddening yet beguiling spectre of his first wife.

The play will run at Wraysbury Village Hall at 7.30pm from Thursday, May 17 to May 19 - with the Saturday audience given a class of champaign to toast the Royal Wedding.

Tickets are £10. Visit www.wraysburyplayers.co.uk, or call 0800 7723614.
