A care home in Windsor is inviting the public in to join its residents when they celebrate the Queen’s 92nd birthday.

Queen’s Court in Dedworth Road is opening its doors on Friday, April 20 from 2pm to 4pm.

Anthony Browne, the home’s manager, said: “Residents have enjoyed creating homemade crowns ahead of the royal celebration and we look forward to welcoming the people of Windsor for what promises to be a fun-filled day.”

It is part of a countrywide initiative called Care Home Open Day, designed to increase links between homes and their local communities.

The team at Queen’s Court are planning an indoor street party and the musical entertainment will include a singalong and an afternoon tea for the visitors to take part in.

Queen’s Court is one of over 100 care homes across the UK run by Care UK, all of which are holding open days.

The royal birthday at the castle will give Windsor's event a special edge.
