A young woman from Maidenhead will run the London Marathon next month in memory of her niece.

Clare MacMillan, 24, has been inspired to run by her niece Sara who died in 2016 at the age of five.

Sara had Dandy Walker Syndrome and her family was helped and supported by the national disability charity Sense that Miss MacMillan is running for.

Miss Macmillan said: "Sara was disabled in so many ways but she was incredibly happy. She had a huge love for music which was discovered during her music lessons at Sense. Our family will be forever grateful to Sense for providing us with the help and support that we greatly needed when having a child with such complex needs, and for providing Sara with the utmost care and dedication that helped her to enjoy her little life to the fullest.”

She has already raised £1,000 by putting on recitals in her church. To sponsor her visit: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/clare-macmillan4 For more information about Sense visit www.sense.org.uk
