Pupils at St Edwards Royal Free Ecumenical Middle School went back to the 1920s - when they presented the musical Thoroughly Modern Millie.

A 57 strong cast and crew from the school in Parsonage Lane, Windsor sang, danced and acted their way through the show over three nights.

Annie Higton stars as Millie who gets a job as a secretary to a wealthy boss in New York and determines to marry him.

But her plans go wrong when she falls for penniless Jimmy Smith - and things are complicated by the fact that the wicked proprietress of her boarding house is planning to sell all the girls to the white slave trade.

Director and producer, St Edwards’ Science teacher David MacKenzie said: ""Every night, the audiences were cheering, booing and foot-tapping their way through the evening and you can’t ask for more than that."

Mr Mackenzie was also supported by a team of teachers who made costumes, styled hair, rouged faces, and choreographed the cast.
